Background

AmTrust Financial Services was founded in 1998 to provide workers’ compensation insurance to small businesses across the United States. Through acquisitions and organic growth, the company has since grown to become a multi-national property and casualty insurer specialising in coverage for small to mid-sized businesses. Interactive Space was engaged as project managers and designers for the move from serviced offices at the Lloyds Building, to the insurance group’s own space of 10,000sq ft on the 9th floor of 2 Minster Court. Agent Ian Campbell of Spring4 acquired the space for AmTrust.

Client Objectives

The new offices needed to reflect the quality brand of the company, in line with its US head quarters. AmTrust required a space to showcase their London office as a serious player in the insurance market, with innovation at its heart.

Key Facts

Extremely aggressive programme entailed the contractor to fit out and install furniture within 6 weeks. Interactive Space supported Spring4 in their negotiations on the lease by providing technical M&E information about the base build systems. Interactive Space was engaged early on in the search for suitable premises, conducting feasibility studies on other buildings such as the Gherkin to find the right building. Design needed to reflect the quality look and feel of their USA HQ, with features bespoke to the London location.
