Client Objectives

AAT’s main objective was to create a new working environment that reflected AAT brand values and reinforced the organisation’s status and reputation in the accountancy profession. At the same time AAT required a cost effective and flexible infrastructure for the future that allowed for changes in operational and financial management.

The Project

Interactive Space designed 15,000 sq ft of office space over 2 floors. There was to be no barriers to team communications enabling a completely open plan working environment. They wanted a feeling of space and the visibility of staff through the use of only low level storage units between teams. Glass partitions were used to create the feeling of openness and transparency. Powerful AAT branding for staff and visitors was created through the visibility of brand messages along corridors and meeting rooms. Vibrant colours were used and modern furniture including a “funky staff wall” and central meeting Hub.

As a result of improved brand perception, AAT membership levels increased (up by 16,000). The project was awarded the “Best Change Management Project 2008” by the Management Consultancies Association
